Timings and performances may be subject to change on the day due to the heat, particularly later in the afternoon. Any changes will be announced at the show, in consultation with performers, with the welfare of both people and animals as the priority.
Unfortunately, we’ve had some disappointing news today. During its routine steam test, the miniature railway developed a major steam leak which requires significant repairs.
As a result, we’re really sorry to say that the miniature train will no longer be able to attend this year’s South Downs Show.
We know many of you were looking forward to it, and we’re just as disappointed. The safety of everyone involved always comes first, and unfortunately there simply isn’t enough time to complete the repairs before the weekend.
The good news is there’s still SO MUCH to enjoy, with incredible arena displays, amazing animals, dinosaurs, the Dog Zone, the Historic Village, traditional rides, great food and drink, shopping and plenty more waiting for you.
