Throughout the weekend, we've got lots of demonstrations going on that you can watch or even take part in! Find some treasure with the metal detectorists or watch the skilled woodcarvers create some beautiful pieces.

All displays will be open throughout the weekend.

METAL DETECTORISTS

South East Searchers was set up in 2019 as a group of dectorists from across West Sussex and Hampshire. 

So if you fancy a chat, to see some unearthed history and would like the chance to find some real Roman coins and old pennies, or have ago on the raffle to win a superb detecting start up pack, come along to the stand, where the South East Searchers and Hayling Detects will be more than happy to see you!

Solent Guild of Woodcarvers

A talented group of people demonstrating all aspects of carving, whittling and sculpting and other wood related activities. They will be holding their annual competition on the Saturday - you can vote for the best woodcarving!

Embers Bushcraft

Visit our very own bushcraft ‘village’ at The South Downs Show where you can experience greenwood carving, game preparation, and longbow/axe throwing.

Raven Field Archers is a field archery club based near Petersfield. Come and have an archery taster session! Will you hit the bullseye?

HAVE A GO AIR RIFLES

Wickham & District Rifle Club will be bringing have a go airguns so everyone can try. Members will be on hand to offer tips and advice before taking aim at the targets on offer.

Wessex Archeology

Wessex Archeology offers a glimpse at the past in the modern day guided by our team of experts through an exciting mix of hands on activities, artefact handling and VR experiences.

LAND ROVER SERIES ONE CLUB

The Land Rover Series One Club was formed by three enthusiasts in 1979. From this small beginning, the largest Land Rover club in the world has grown, with over 3,300 members from Solihull to Sydney. Its aim is to encourage the use of early Land Rovers built between 1948 and 1958 and to assist with the preservation of these iconic vehicles.

HAMPSHIRE SEARCH & RESCUE

Set up in 2003 Hampshire Search and Rescue (HANTSAR), a registered charity, is one of many (35) Lowland Rescue teams throughout the country which provide professionally trained volunteers to assist the police with searches for at-risk vulnerable missing people (such as children, the elderly or despondent).

STEAM

Our planned steam display have had to pull out due to maintenance issues but we do still have a 1/3 scale model of a Burrell Traction Engine and matching Agricultural Wagon in which children/parents can ride.
